How to get to Belfort ?

If you are arriving by plane, we advise you to fly to Basel-Mulhouse. If you arrive in Paris, you can take the direct TGV, which is fast, or the ‘normal’ train TER, which is cheaper. 

Si vous arrivez par avion, nous vous conseillons vivement d’arriver à Basel-Mulhouse. Si vous arrivez à Paris, vous pouvez prendre le TGV direct qui est plus rapide, ou le train ‘normal’ TER qui est moins cher.

Optymo : When you first arrive at one of the Belfort train stations, you may find it difficult to purchase a OPTYMO bus ticket (you can’t pay on the bus). Be aware that you can buy it on line with your smartphone for the first day!

European students

Documents must be in French or translated into French and fully certified by a professional translator. Help will be given to all incoming students concerned during Welcome Week regarding administration, paperwork and bureaucracy in France. 

You MUST bring these documents with you : 

– Birth certificate (original + French Translation)

– 2 Forms of official identification: Passport, International Identity Card, Driver’s Licence, etc…

– UTBM acceptance letter (copy or original)

– Proof that you will receive a scholarship or grant (eg. Erasmus, Arfitec, University…) stating which grant and the amount. (only if you will actually receive one, of course!)

6 passport size photos (you will need many!)

– European Health Insurance Card or the certificate proving that you have this cover

– Vaccination Certificates more specifically proof of BGC vaccine / DTP booster / Tuberculin test **

 ** If you do not have records of your vaccinations, ask a doctor in your country to write a letter confirming that you have had these vaccinations/tests. If you do not this before coming to France, you may be asked to have these vaccinations in France. This applies to all nationalities! 

 

Non-european students

Documents must be in French or translated into French and fully certified by a professional translator. Help will be given to all incoming students concerned during Welcome Week regarding administration, paperwork and bureaucracy in France. 

You MUST bring these documents with you : 

– Birth certificate – (original + translation) make sure that your birth certificate is in French and certified according to the Hague agreement with the “Apostille”. Ask your local French Embassy or contact Campus France for more info

– Passport + Valid Student Visa (see Campus France for more information about student visas in France) www.campusfrance.org Plus one other form of identification: International Identity Card, driver’s Licence, etc…

– UTBM acceptance letter (copy or original)

– Proof that you will receive a scholarship or grant (eg. Erasmus, Arfitec, University…) stating which grant and the amount. (only if you will actually receive one, of course!)

6 passport size photos (you will need many!)

– For students from Quebec in Canada : Le Formulaire SE401-Q-106 For all other non-European students – proof of any personal health insurance that you may have

– Vaccination Certificates more specifically proof of BGC vaccine / DTP booster / Tuberculin test **
